Previously known as the ‘National Network’, the National Indigenous Lived Experience Group (NILEG) serves as IALEC’s primary advisory and project work body composed of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples with lived experience of suicide from diverse perspectives and communities. It provides culturally grounded, community-informed perspectives to guide IALEC’s National priorities, projects, and partnerships, while nurturing leadership, connection, and individual and collective healing.
(NB: Communities used here means Communities in specific locations/regions but also peer-based communities i.e. Rainbow mob).
Delegate name
A strong, connected, and empowered group of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander lived experience leaders who sustainably and safely share their diverse personal experiences and community contexts in project work and Centre activities.
Individuals share with the aim of positively influencing systems, uplifting their communities, and driving change grounded in culture, Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) and collective lived experience expertise.
There is a reciprocal relationship between IALEC, individuals on the National Group and their communities.
Assist IALEC to build and/or maintain connections to Local Lived Experience Networks in their Community
Represent their own community and their lived experience lenses at State and National levels (similar to a delegate)

We acknowledge all lived experiences of First Nations Peoples that are brought to this work, and recognise the power and impact these experiences have on creating meaningful and impactful change for our Communities.
